With a national shortage in school counselors, many universities have stepped up to produce the necessary educational offerings required to educate the next generation of school counselors, psychologist, and SLP’s. The gold standard for school counseling education in the U.S. is a master’s in school counseling, but not all of these programs are the same.
School Counseling Masters was created to help potential students differentiate programs from one another and to offer information about the state-by-state requirements for school counselor licensing. Programs are thoroughly reviewed by our writing and editorial team, who are practicing school counselors themselves, and the unique program strengths as well as weaknesses are highlighted for potential applicants.
Elements such as program accreditation, cost, length, curriculum and entrance requirements are provided to readers, so that potential students can find the right program that meets their individual goals.
